I really wanted to love the Chrysalis dress. I had been eying it for months hoping it would go on sale or I could get a discount code. Finally the time came for our trip to France and I broke down and bought it at full price. Even once I got it, I wasn't sure if I was going to send it back. My husband talked me into keeping it by saying it was the cutest rain jacket ever. And it is cute, but...
Cons:
*The fabric is thinner than I expected (which may be great for warmer months)
*I have a love/hate relationship with the crazy long sleeves. I have to roll them up about 3-4 inches for eating or washing my hands.
*The tie is cute, but in a strange place. It hits right across the left breast and would be better placed slightly under the breast.
*There is only ONE pocket! It really drove me crazy to not have 2 hand pocket; it would be nice to have the same slim line zipper on 2 hand pockets. The one pocket should have been made a smidge larger. It could fit my passport, but barely and it was a struggle to get in and out; same thing with my iPhone 3G. My passport & phone wouldn't fit in there together and not sure if it would fit the 4G iPhones.
*I could care less about the rouching ties in the back.
*It could use one more snap on the sleeves as there was a gape on the back side and I occasionally could feel the breeze come in there.
*The collar is a little odd; half the "tie" effects the collar. It's not much use except to look cool. One windy day, I was really wishing there was a lightweight hood in there.
Pros:
*Super light weight
*Wrinkle resistant (I wadded it up and shoved it in my bag several times)
*It is water resistant (event though I fortunately didn't get to test it in a down pour)
*Did I mention cute :)
So I bought this and took it on a 12 day trip to France in October and used it as a jacket. I have yet to wear it as a dress. I bought it in size large (I'm 5'10" and 160 lbs) and it fit great even with a bulky sweatshirt underneath. So overall, I would say this is a pretty cool jacket/dress. However, due to the missing "accessories" (pockets, hood, extra snap, etc.), I don't think it's worth it's full price. Add in those items and then it'll worth it's price; Almost there Nau.
What size do you normally wear in other brands? Medium or Large
What size did you buy in this NAU item? Large
Pros: Performance, Styling
Cons: Design Features, Fabric
No, I do not recommend this product.
